Happy 2009!

Happy New Year to All.

We spent our New Year's Eve toasting with sparkling grape juice while watching the ball drop..... ok, ok, so I only made it to the east coast midnight, but Rob did wake me up for our
midnight smooch. I may be on bed rest,
but pregnancy is still too exhausting to stay up so late.

And sweet Rob wanted me to have my traditional New Year's Day meal, so he made me hoppin' johns, collard greens, and corn meal biscuits. Jerry supplied the Arkansas Chow Chow. It was such a wonderful lunch. It's my favorite meal of the year!

Oh yes, I was in my pjs as usual...fancy, eh?

Who eats this kind of food?!? Apparently, only you Carolinin's/Arkansan's. It looks yummy though. -- You are looking fabulous darling. Can't wait to meet the little guy.

Oh, Jenny - You have NO idea what you're missing! You come on down, and I'll make you some collards and hoppin' johns. It's FABULOUS! And unlike my southern kinfolk, my meals are all vegetarian-friendly. If you order collards most places in the south, you're likely to find a big chunk of pork in it! Yuck!
